Visage ou devenir gris with Fade to grey

Visage are a British pop band. Formed in 1978, the band became closely linked to the burgeoning new romantic fashion movement of the early 1980s with the timeless song Fade to grey, an all and out classic of the 80’s. Gary Numan was heavily impressed with the writing of Fade to Grey and commented :”they used to work on it during the sound checks on my ’79 tour. Cedric Sharpley, who was the drummer of the Gary Numan’s backing band] was also heavily involved.”On the UK Channel 4 show Top Ten New Romantics in 1999, Steve Strange claimed to have been the one who came up with the idea for the French vocal in the track. The French vocal was performed by Brigitte Arendt, a young student from Luxembourg who was a girlfriend of a band’s member at the time. Several other artists have made their own versions of this song. In 2008, Strange appeared on the BBC series Ashes to Ashes performing the song in the Blitz, a British nightclub known for trendy nights during the 1980’s. The club is where bands like Spandau ballet and Ultravox were formed. Just one of my favorite song of the 80’s.
